About Closer to Home
Our Closer to Home services provide specialist support for individuals with complex needs and behaviours that can challenge.
This is rewarding and sometimes demanding work, suited to people who are calm, resilient and confident supporting individuals in situations that may be challenging at times.
About the role
We’re recruiting Bank Support Workers to support our Closer to Home services on a flexible basis.
This is a great opportunity if you:
- are looking for flexible work that fits around other commitments
- already work in care and are looking for additional shifts
- want to build experience supporting individuals with complex needs
Bank work is flexible — there’s no obligation for us to offer shifts, or for you to accept them. To remain active, you’ll just need to be able to commit to a minimum of three shifts per month.
Shifts can include days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, waking nights and sleep-ins, depending on service needs and your availability.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be supporting individuals with complex needs to live the life that matters to them, including:
- Supporting with daily living skills, routines and independence
- Providing consistent, person-centred support during periods of distress
- Following Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) plans and risk assessments
- Encouraging participation in community and social activities
- Supporting with personal care and health needs where required
- Promoting dignity, choice and respectful support at all times
- Working in line with Drive’s values, policies and person-centred approach
What we’re looking for:
- People who share our values and approach to support — compassionate, reliable and respectful
- NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this with our support
- Ideally, experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs or behaviours that can challenge, or experience in a people focused role
- Able to communicate clearly, work as part of a team, and adapt to a range of situations
- Flexible and able to work a variety of shifts
You’ll also need to:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Have the right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
- Be willing to register with Social Care Wales and maintain registration
- Hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle and obtain business insurance
