Drive is a Registered Domiciliary Care provider working in Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr, Neath Port Talbot, Monmouth and Caerphilly. We provide individual and shared supported living for people with a learning disability in over 75 supported living houses.  Individuals are supported to live together, having their own tenancies and bedrooms in accommodation for up to five people. We are passionate about supporting people to live full and valued independent lives in their local communities, developing natural networks of support with families, neighbours and community groups.

The Local Authority will assess the support you need, and whether this is a few hours or 24hours a day with sleep-in support, Drive will plan your support with you.

Our staff are trained to deliver person centred, active support, to enable you to develop skills at home and in the community. We support people to run their own homes and build strong social networks, creating new opportunities and life-style choices based on each person’s hopes and aspirations.

Staff promote good health and wellbeing and access to health services. We support people with advice on nutrition and opportunities to access leisure and sports facilities. Staff are trained to provide assistance with the administration of medication. Staff provide quality support and  understand they are working in people’s own homes, promoting dignity and showing respect for decisions and choices that people make.

Some of the people we support move on to more independent accommodation, having developed the life-skills and confidence to reduce the levels of support they need from us.

Tenancy and Wellbeing Services

Our Tenancy and Wellbeing Services in Cynon provide sessional support to individuals who each have their own flat.

Support is provided to people with mental ill health, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, physical disabilities and/or learning disabilities. Many people move to the wellbeing service as part of a step down from supported living to further develop their confidence and skills to eventually move on to more independent accommodation.
