The Management Board

Drive is governed by a voluntary board of trustees known as the Management Board.

The Board has responsibility  for the Management of Drive, ensuring we adhere to current legislation and the Charities Commission code of conduct.

We elect a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for the the Management Board every year. The current Chair is Mr Hugh Irwin and the Vice Chair is Mr Geoff Lake.

The Board meets every two months to provide effective governance, supporting Drive’s compliance with legislation and regulation requirements. The Board receives monitoring information and sets strategy and policy, and we have two Board development days a year for further training and reviews of the Business Plan.

Chief Executive

Rhian Jones was appointed as CEO in 2018. Rhian was previously the Director of Operational Services for Drive since 2010. Rhian has a masters degree in management development, and holds NVQ Assessor and internal verifier awards.

Rhian has worked with people with a learning disability for almost twenty years. For the last ten years she has been a Senior manager for several provider Organisations, and has developed her own business as a management consultant and trainer in Health and Social Care Sector.

Director of Operational Services

Karen holds the Diploma in Welfare Studies, Counselling Skills and Theory Qualification, NVQ Level IV, BTEC Advanced Diploma in Positive Behaviour Support and Level V Manager’s award. Karen also holds the Vocational Assessors award and the Internal Verifiers award.
Karen has over 20 years experience in supporting people with a learning disability.

Director of Finance

Carol Ravenscroft was appointed as Director of Finance in 2002. Carol has over 25 years experience in Financial Management in various roles in the public sector.

Carol is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Director of Human Resources

Carolyn Oliver-Hall is a qualified executive coach and change management practitioner, together with having a 37 year career working in all aspects of Human Resources. Carolyn is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), a Member of the Institute of Leadership & Management (MInstLM), and a Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC).  She holds formal qualifications in Advanced Employment Law, Coaching & Mentoring, Change Management, Strategic Workforce Planning, Organisation Development and Workplace Mediation.

Using her significant coaching and mentoring experience, Carolyn is a volunteer mentor for several mentoring schemes in a voluntary capacity and is also a Trustee/Non Executive Director within the charity sector.
